I was fortunate to complete my studies at the prestigious City Lit in Covent Garden, London. This internationally renowned centre is the largest of its kind in Europe and has supported deaf people since it was established in 1919. City Lit provided some of the first lipreading classes for deafened soldiers returning from the First World War.

At City Lit, I achieved both an Award in Education and Training and my Lipreading Teaching qualification.

Lipreading classes empower people with hearing loss to live independent and fulfilling lives. They offer an opportunity to:

• Understand the mechanics of lipreading.
• Develop practical communication skills.
• Meet like-minded people.
• Share effective ways of managing and living with hearing loss.
• Build confidence in a safe, welcoming environment.

I offer both face-to-face and online classes. Together, we can bridge the communication gap and create a community in which every deaf or hard-of-hearing person feels safe, included and part of something special.

Face-to-face classes start on Friday 25th September 2026 in Milford on Sea.

09:00 – 10:30 – Beginners.

11:00 – 12:30 – Intermediate/Advanced. 

13:00 – 14:30 – Improvers. 

Online classes start on Tuesday 29th September 2026 at midday.
